Quality skincare: an important first step

An effective skincare routine begins with quality ingredients that are targeted toward your skin goals. From acne treatment and prevention to plumping skin and pre-treating wrinkles, your skincare products are what set you up for healthy, radiant skin today and for years to come.

Some top skin goals you may have include:

Improving Your Skin’s Daily Functionality:
Did you know that every day, we shed MILLIONS of skin cells? Improving your skin’s overall functionality is an essential step in supporting the exchange of old to new cells. This helps you maintain a proper pH balance, resulting in clear, hydrated, and glowing skin.

Targeting Anti-Aging: Skin cells turn over more and more slowly as we age, making our skin look duller and less radiant. Quality skincare is a must to help remove dead skin cells and allow your body to replace them with newer ones.

Preventing Acne: Like most things, preventing acne is easier than treating it after the fact. Treating residual acne pigmentation and scarring is costly and time-consuming. Get ahead of any skin damage by using a skincare routine that targets your specific acne needs.

A curated skin care plan, personally developed for you by a professional from Fraser Medical Aesthetics, will not only meet your skin goals but when your skin looks better, your self-confidence will also get a boost!

A 5-Step Skincare Routine For Radiant Skin

When it comes to a great skincare routine, less is always more. This easy 5-step routine covers everything you need for healthy, happy, GLOWING skin.

Step 1: Wash your face with a gentle cleanser. If your skin is dry, you’ll want a cleanser that has no alcohol, as it will only dry it out further. Oily skin? Choose an oil-free cleanser. Rinse with warm (not hot!) water, and gently pat dry with a clean towel.

Step 2: Calm your skin and restore its pH balance with a toner or toning treatment pads – this will also pre-set the skin for protective serums, such as Vitamin C.

Step 3:
Our bodies require oral and topical hydration to support healthy skin. A good moisturizer is a key part of your regime and is your skin’s first line of defence when it comes to environmental damage and stressors.

Moisturizer Tip: As with cleansers, you’ll want to pick a moisturizer that targets your skin’s needs for each season.

  • Anti Aging? Look for moisturizers with hyaluronic acid and glycerin to support the skin’s barrier
  • Acne-prone skin? Try a moisturizer free of any oils

Step 4: Protect your skin from any future damage by applying sunscreen in the AM. Choose one that has broad-spectrum protection and a minimum SPF of 30. And remember, sunscreen is important even in the winter!

Step 5: Rotate exfoliators into your PM routine.

  • Use a weekly beaded facial wash to physically exfoliate your skin and remove dead skin cells
  • Use retinol (Vitamin A) twice weekly to not only exfoliate the skin but also expedite cell turnover. This is a great product to have if you suffer from acne as it manages sebum levels, and also works to increase slow cell turnover for anti-aging properties
